NAO is a Portuguese gin, aged in wine barrels from Porto, giving it this Portuguese soul. The gin is distilled in England, where the best distilleries and later bottled in Portugal. It ages for four months in wine barrels from Oporto and it’s called NAO, a pun on ships, ships that were widely used by the Portuguese in the Age of Discovery. At the smell level, it has soft notes of port combined with a touch of spice, citrus notes of limes and fresh oranges. It is bright, with soft golden hues, result of the time it rests in port wine casks and, at the taste level, it has a fresh feeling, spices, citrus notes and golden grape. One of the perfect combination to serve the NAO is with a twist of grapefruit and vanilla pod.
